The University of Minnesota Bee Squad and Extension partnered with Michigan State University to make it easier for beekeepers to monitor varroa mite levels in their honey bee colonies. Items you need to perform an alcohol wash are in one convenient tub! Alcohol not included.

THIS KIT INCLUDES:

• a tub for collecting the bee sample and for displaying mites at the final mite count
• a 1/2 cup scoop to measure 300 bees (standard sample size)
• two jars with a mesh screen for separating the bees from the mites
• two solid jar lids for shaking the sample and storing alcohol
• a plastic handheld magnifying glass to better see the mites
• a brochure with instructions

Proceeds from the sales of the Varroa Mite Testing Kit will be used to fund beekeeping education.
