On Purpose: Portrait Of The Liberal Arts

$18.00
Description:

Artist and MFA Xavier Tavera (Mexico City, Mexico) was commissioned to produce a collection of photographs in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. This project’s goal is to make a collective artistic statement from over 500 voices about the impact of the Liberal Arts. Although the medium is formal portraiture, the collection is not traditional in composition. Tavera has the ability to introduce people through his photographs. He inspires, challenges, and connects people to each other in a bold and captivating way. We invited faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to share their perspective and impact in connection with the college. Through this process, we believe a collective statement is being made about the strength and diversity of thought and experiences of the CLA community. The impact of staff, faculty, students, alumni and community is far-reaching. Their research, donations and skills touch more than the Minneapolis campus.

9.635 x 13 soft cover, 127 pages, 60 full color portraits.
