Textbook Rental Program

The U of M Bookstores offer an expanded textbook rental program available for many courses. The rental textbook program provides another option to save money on your textbook costs. Rental textbooks are available for several U of M courses. Log in here to see what's available for you.

Students opting to rent their textbooks must complete a rental agreement form that includes the following items.

• The rental textbook is the property of the University of Minnesota Bookstore. In accepting the terms of the rental agreement, the student accepts responsibility to use the book and return it to the Bookstore in original condition (no tears, water damage, excessive writing or highlighting,) or you will be required to pay for a NEW book as a replacement. If there is ANY damage, at the time of rental, it must be noted on the rental agreement.
  
  
• The textbook rental fee is refundable only if the book is returned to the Bookstore by the posted textbook refund date for the term.
  
  
• The rented textbook must be checked-in by the last day of final exams for the term it was rented for. If the rental textbook is lost or stolen, you will be required to pay for a NEW copy as a replacement for the rental book.
  
  
• Students opting to rent a textbook authorize the Bookstore to charge their student account for a NEW book if the book is not returned by the check-in deadline, or is checked-in with damage.
